Yellow Lobster One in a Million...
Well, make that 1 in 30 million! A yellow lobster with orange spots was recently discovered in a shipment of lobsters in Massachusetts. The lobster originally came from off Prince Edward Island in Canada, and is a true rarity, as normally-colored lobsters are generally a greenish-brown color (they turn red when you cook them because the heat releases a caretenoid pigment naturally present in the lobster's shell).
Michael Tlusty, director of research at the New England Aquarium, said that he hasn't personally seen the lobster, but if it is a true yellow lobster, it is a find that is about 1 in 30 million. According to Boston.com, Nathan "Nick" Nickerson of Arnold's Lobster and Clam Bar in Eastham, MA, who was given the lobster by a friend, intends to keep it in a tank for awhile and then will likely donate it to an aquarium in Massachusetts.

Hi Jennifer
That is really cool. Do you have any pictures of the lobster they found? I love lobsters and yellow and orange are my favorite color.
Hi Lobster Lady!
Thanks for visiting. There is a picture online here.
I am hoping to get one of that lobster or some other interesting ones to add to my American Lobster image gallery that I started recently. If you happen to know of any, I’d love to see them!
About 7 years ago, I saw an orange lobster in Portsmouth, NH. Pretty amazing. I have a picture of it that I will try to dig up.
