Fans of the Animal Planet show Whale Wars will be happy to know that the show has been renewed for a 6th season.
The show follows the exploits of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society as they try to stop Japanese whaling ships from hunting in the Southern Ocean. According to the show's web site on Animal Planet:
The series has enthralled audiences who have witnessed the dangerous cat-and-mouse game at the far end of the globe between the Sea Shepherds and the whalers. For years, Captain Paul Watson and his Sea Shepherd Conservation Society crew have taken to the high seas in an attempt to stop Japanese ships from hunting whales in the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary. WHALE WARS documents the ongoing battles in the icy Antarctic waters as the conflict between Sea Shepherds and the whalers grows more intense with each engagement -- each pushing the other to the limit to fight for their beliefs.
To be honest, I've seen the show only once or twice. I don't really agree with the tactics that Sea Shepherd uses, although they do seem to be working as the number of whales that the Japanese have killed has decreased over the past few years. What do you think of Whale Wars? Do you watch the show?

I love Sea Shepherd, and I’m glad that “Whale Wars” will be on again. Also, I wouldn’t say that Japanese whalers kill whales for “their beliefs.” Rather, they’re just trying to make money.
I love this show. I can’t wait until they shut them down for good!!!
Love the show and love whales! Glad to see some people take an actively persue something that is so important. Bravo to the crew, the production of this show and those who bring it to TV for us to see…
This show is amazing! These people put their lives on the line for whales. It’s a great show. I hope they stop the whalers for good! Go Bob Barker!
